The human brain makes up only about 2% of body weight, yet it uses close to 20% of the body’s energy. Even more interesting: about 60% of the brain’s dry weight is fat.
These fats are an important part of nerve cells and of the sheath that protects them. This is why researchers pay special attention to two Omega-3 fatty acids: DHA and EPA.
Not every Omega-3 is the same
A label may say “1000 mg”, but that is the size of the capsule, not the amount of useful fatty acids inside. In cheaper products the actual EPA and DHA content can be quite low.
How to recognise a quality Omega-3
- Amount: what matters is the pure EPA and DHA content, not the capsule size.
- Form: Omega-3 in the natural triglyceride (TG) form is considered to be well absorbed.
TIBOVIT Omega-3
Each serving of TIBOVIT Omega-3 provides 360 mg of EPA and 240 mg of DHA. Adults and children over 12 are advised to take it once a day with a meal or after it, with water.
A food supplement does not replace a varied diet and is not a medicine. If you have a chronic condition or take medication, consult your doctor first.
